Network ID's what a glorious thing

For exploration 11 of our concept class we are looking into Network ID's. The reason why we are doing this exploration is to help us understand ID's because we are designing one  for Ringling TV. A Network ID refers to the identity of the network and helps relay the attitude of the station. Not to mention that the FCC requires that all US stations to identify themselves on an hourly basis.

Two Networks ID's I really think are well done are Discovery Channel and MTV. The reason I like Discovery Channel they really pack in the human feel, nature, textures, design all into clever thought out ID's. MTV Network ID's  targets its demographic so well, they captured the personality and attitude of youth.

New Transitions

These are some transitions I made trying to incorporate design of the show open elements. The idea behind these was to bring more exciting movement to these transitions, the one with circles i thought was particluarly clever.

The First Pass

Our concept was: To show the evolution of a student through the ringling experience. We desidede to go about this in an abstract way of showing some thing transform into something better than it was.

The Final Project

This is our final show open for A Day In The Life. For the final show open we had to bring more elements into it so we can establish connectivety with the other parts of the show package. The show open we used videos of people to bring back that human element we also used the orb as our main focus in the opener.

This is the final lower thirds:

Looping Background

After working on this project I now have bigger understanding of show package design. I also learned about how I interact with a group, I learned that I'm concept driven and tried to keep us on the road of the concept. I learned that I also am the one to brake the tension or frustration in the group with either jokes, goofing around or a simple redbull run. I think with that attitude it made working on this project fun and exciting.
